Week 9 Challenge

Aim: To create sliders for the undercuts and create inserts fro the CPU fancase where ever required.

1. Sliders

To create the first slider for the circular undercut, first the core body is split and required profile is created for the same. Once the body fro slider is ready, additional space is cut from the core block for wahsers and bolts. The body for slider is saved ina seprated file and used to made changes in the cavity block.

For the slider for the rectangular undercut, same process is followed, except, the cavity block is split first and the body is saved in another file. Same process is repeated in the core side as the part needs to be added to the assembly through core side and hence needs part of the profile present in core side. The core side body is saved seprately. A new part is added to teh assembly and parts from the core and cavity side are imported and combined to form one body and then given the shape of a slider by adding collar. The new slider is used to make the necassary changes in the core and cavity block.

2. Inserts

Inserts need to be created fror profiles that have dept more that 20-30mm for 1.5mm width. Hence, for the CPU fancase, 2 inserts will be required to compensate for the depth. Using the sketch and plane at required level the core is splt into 3 parts and the 2 inserts are saved in a different file.

Depth of component too big for machining.

3. Changes in the Core and Cavity Block

The sliders created must be able to freely move out of the core block and hence, the body needs to be modified according to the sliders. Same for cavity block, it should fit roperly in the cavity block and hence material needs to be added and the slider body needs to be subtracted from the block to get a proper block,

Conclusion: Thus, sliders and inserts are created for the CPU fancase.
