Week 9 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

SWITCH BENZEL

OBJECTIVES

The objective of the project is to design the switch benzel and to do a draft analysis for it by creating the required tooling direction with the help of the bisecting method

INTRODUCTION

The control pannel benzel is the farm part of the window switch that holds its switch covers and button into place.Moulding is the method used to manufacture the plastic trims of an automotive by most OEM's hence by consideration the switch benzel is designed

CREATION OF TOOLING AXIS

I used the igs file in cat part so i created own tooling axis

CREATION OF B SURFACE

In this method I extract the parts from the class A surface and use the comand surface untrim and use extrapolate and then trim the surface .Next we use fillet option to get fillet for 15mm in side edge and 11.5mm in top edge .

CREATION OF THE C SURFACE

I used the option multiple extract to get the boundray edges and using sweep comand we get extrude surface there some gap occurs solve this by using extrapolate at 4 boundries in 2 elements gap is filled join the A and given surface .Trim the b surface and given joned suface c surface part is created.

DRAFT ANALYSIS

I analysis detailed using the draft analysis by applying various degree values
