Week 9 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design

Base Bracket

Draft analysis of Class A Surface – Draft analysis is done to check whether the surface is good for manufacturing or not. To create the tooling axis for the class A surface by checking the plane on which all the surface of the class is visible then create a tooling axis perpendicular to that surface.

Tooling axis Creation – First of all identify the surface that can create problems in part from coming out of the mold then in the base bracket I identify the 4 surfaces (2-2 symmetrical) create a line on those 2 symmetrical surfaces then create a bisect line between them again do the same for left 2 symmetrical surfaces then again, we got 1 bisecting line then create the bisecting line between 2 previous bisecting lines then the resulting line is called as tooling axis.

Draft analysis of Final Base Bracket – After creating the whole part again do the draft analysis.
