Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2
AIM : To Create the Dog House for the Door Trim considering the design rules mentioned in the video Considering the thickness of the part to be 2.5 mm.
1)An explanation should be given on the way of creating the tooling axis :
- The next step is to create the tooling axis for the part which will determine the direction in which the core and cavity of the mould will move.
- Designer must ensure that all holes and slots are covered in the main tooling and thus side core must be avoided whenever possible
- After analysing visually for the best possible tooling axis, an axis system is created on the centre of one of the surfaces of the door trim.
- The main tooling axis is created normal to the y direction and this is our required tooling axis direction .
2)A detailed report should be done explaining the draft analysis :
- Follow the steps : Go to insert> analysis> feature draft analysis
- Place the compass on the Tooling axis that is created using bisecting method .
- Select the lock symbol to fix compass along with tooling axis .
- Click on the surface then various Color codes will be appeared and Draft angle is applied . Make sure that the surface is within the permissible limit of the draft values. The surface should be green and nominal draft value should be 3deg .
- Thus the draft analysis on the class-A surface is successfully performed.
