WEEK 9- ATTACHEMENT FEATURE CREATION - CHALLENGE 1

AIM:

To create firstly open the coin holder using the open command. Go to part desing create a part body and assign thickness to the extrude line.

PROCEDURE:

The draw line on the base surface of the coin holder with using portion sketch. construct the line with using axis. and extrude the this line and add thicking for the component.

Coin holder thickness is 2.5 So Consider the Ribs thickness is 0.4x2.5=1mm.

draft angle is 0.5 for rib.

RIBS:

To create a positioning sketch draw a line, constrait it and define it as an output feature. extrude the output line using extrude command.

Go to part desingn create a part body and assign thickness to the extruded line.

Draft the thickned rib with an angle of 0.5 deg.

After drafting measure that the top surface is greater than 0.75mm.

Now give the fillets to the edges of 0.25mm all sides.

Aessmble The rib body with coin holder.

Similarly Create another rib with a distance of 2:1 ratio the Created rib.

Using formula.

Y/X=2( as per perference from the video)

Height of rib Y=12.5

Distance between ribs X=?

X=12.5/2

Y=6.25

Now Create an intersection using a yx plane to determine the rib root thickness.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

After the outer feature ribs are created go to insert select analysis and click on feature draft analysis.

seclect analysis and click on feature draft analysis. select on the compass and position on the tooling axis.

Click on the body to see colour scale.

CUT SECTION VIEW

Rib 0.4*thickness of the component.

Coin holder thickness is 2.5 So consider the rib thickness is 0.4x2.5=1mm.

draft angle is 0.5 rib.

Height of the rib is 5* thickness.

Thickness is 2.5 so geight of the rib is 5*2.5=12.5

Rib root thickness is R=1.343

DESIGN TREE STRUCTURE

Sopcae between the two ribs is 3:1 ratio

Height of the rib is =12.5

Sopace between the ribs =x

Ratio=3

x=12.5/=4.1mm is minimum.

RESULT:

The centre console coin holder considering the design rules. a line on the base surface of the coin holder with using portion sketch. Construct the line with using axis. and thicking for this surface. and thickness of the rib the component coin holder thickness is give the draft angle for the rib.
