Week 8 - Universal Joint

Aim: Aim of task is to simulate a universal joint and find out the equivalent stress and total deformation. For the simulation three different materials should be used for the springs. Structural steel, titanium alloy, stainless steel.

The following link is the simulation video of Universal joint with stainless steel material.

Conclusions:

All the three materials having same deformation value. The reason is that we can observe the deformation at the end where we had no change of material. The end where the spring is attached had minimum deformation for all three cases.

The maximum stress is observed for the Structural steel compared to other two.
