Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Door Trim Lower
WEEK 8 - CHALLENGE 5 - DOOR TRIM LOWER DESIGN
AIM : To create the Door Trim Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Take the Thickness of the component to be 2.5 mm.
GIVEN CLASS A SURFACE :

IMPORTANT NOTE :
- Tree Structure
- Ensure Proper Tree Structure
- Geometrical sets should have a proper name based on the sketches present inside of it
- All the sketches should be created under the Geometrical set
- Use the Close Surface feature to make a solid body from the surface.
- Publications: Use the publication option and publish the below
- Tooling Axis
- Class A, B, and C surface.
DOOR TRIM LOWER DESIGN IN CATIA V5 :
TOOLING AXIS CREATION :

- Initially extract the flat surface of given class A surface and next is to make point on surface and to create the tooling axis line perpendicular to the surafce.
CLOSURE SURFACE OF DOOR TRIM LOWER IN CATIA V5 :
- ISOMETRIC VIEW :

- RIGHT SIDE VIEW :

- LEFT SIDE VIEW :

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF DOOR TRIM LOWER CLOSURE SURFACES OF A,B,C :
In this tooling direction maximum 3 degrees for properly for the making the proper draft angle for the perfect assembly for the mold.

SOLID CATPART OF DOOR TRIM LOWER DRAWN IN CATIA V5 :
- Solid Part of Closure surface of Door trim lower Different views :

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF SOLID CATPART:

Solid body cat part draft angle is maximum is 3 degrees and minimum 0 degrees, these draft angle need to maintain for proper assembly direction.
CONCLUSION :
Hence, finally created the Door Trim Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Door Trim Lower of the Thickness of the component is 2.5 mm.
