Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

tooling Axis creation :
The tooling axis is created with help of creating a bisecting line with respect to the intersect line we obtain from the class a surface.

We will extend two lines from the edges of intersect lines created with respect to the ZX plane and create the bisecting lines from the two extended lines. the same procedure is applied from the intersect created from the YZ plane and the tolling axis is created.

Draft Analysis :

The draft analysis is done to check if the part will be easy to remove from the molds. The toolbar we can get from: insert > analysis > draft analysis. Select the compass toolbar and align the axis according to the tooling axis. Display the color mode and select the face to perform the draft analysis with help of a pointer ( running point icon ) , the draft can be 3deg according to the design rule and you can check for the color codes at isometric, front view of the model. the green color shows it can be drafted and red color shows the difficulty to draft.

Class A surface: This is the aesthetic surface of the component. This surface will be prepared with help of computer-aided software.

Class B surface: This is the secondary surface visible to the end-user but they are of less importance. Engineering features are found in these surface.

Class C surface is the surface not visible to the end-user. It allows more imperfections than A or B.
