Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper

AIM :

Create the Bumper Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

Take the Thickness of the component to be 3 mm

BUMPER :

Tooling Axis:-

Import Class A surface in the drawing.

i have selected a normal surface and created a Tooling Axis.

Draft Analysis:-

The draft analysis will help you quickly gather the draft angle on multiple surfaces manual measurements. The first step is to change your shading style to “Shading with Material”.The next step is to click on the draft analysis icon in the Analysis toolbar.Draft analysis initially assumes a Z axis direction. This can be done with the dragging of the compass with respect to the Tool axis direction. Now that the draft direction is fixed, you can gather the draft angles along different surfaces using the “on the fly” mode. Simply activate the icon within the draft analysis dialogue box and hover your mouse over the surface.using “invert draft direction method” check the color variation in the part and analyze the draft angles in the part.now ok with this position and lock the current orientation.

CLASS A SURFACE :

FINAL PLASTIC COMPONENT :

B SURFACE :

Based on Class A surface, now i am creating B surface. I had given offset of 3mm and some sub elements are didnt formed that elemnts i took multiple extraction within the side elements and i had extrapolated that extracts whenever it not performed i took a boundary of the extracts and i had performed again multiple extract and i trim the extrapolations and form a desired shape and with the join command i had removed the sub elements after that create the edge filet for all the edges.

C SURFACE :

For creating C-Surface, now take the boundary line for class A surface. I had given the multiple extraction to the reference surface and i had given the sweep with in the reference of the multiple extractions with angle of 90degree and length of the 5mm.

Joined the Class A surface and Sweeps in the Class C surface :

Final Surface:-

Using trim surface command to trim B & join of A and C surface and get the final surface.

Part Body:-

By using close surface command, convert Solid Model from the final surface.
