Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper
The first step to create the part from surface is to do a feasibility check on class A surface to find if the surface is good enough to work on.
Then after, a tooling axis is created in either the X, Y or Z direction. Depending on which of the direction is clearing the draft analysis, a tooling direction is choosen.
Now, through the offset function, a new class B surface is created, keeping in mind the given thickness of the part.
The class B is then rectified and completed.
Through sweep command, Class C surface is created keeping in mind the draft angle to be given wherever required.
Then after, the Class A, B and C are joined and trimmed together to give a closed body part.
At the end, A draft analysis is performed again. It is found that almost all the areas of the part is clearing the required minimum draft angle of 3 degrees, with a very few surfaces having a lesser or a negative draft angle.
