WEEK 8 - CHALLENGE 4 - BUMPER DESIGN

AIM : TO Create the Bumper Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

Take the Thickness of the component to be 3 mm

GIVEN CLASS A SURFACE :

IMPORTANT NOTE :

  • Tree Structure
    • Ensure Proper Tree Structure
    • Geometrical sets should have a proper name based on the sketches present inside of it
    • All the sketches should be created under the Geometrical set
    • Use the Close Surface feature to make a solid body from the surface.
    • Publications: Use the publication option and publish the below
      • Tooling Axis
      • Class A, B, and C surface

BUMPER DESIGN IN CATIA V5 :

TOOLING AXIS CREATION :

Creation of Tooling Axis :

  • Initially extract the flat surface of given class A surface and next is to make point on surface and to create the tooling axis line perpendicular to the surafce.

CLOSURE SURFACE OF BUMPER IN CATIA V5 :

  • ISOMETRIC VIEW :

  • TOP VIEW :

  • FRONT VIEW :

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF BUMPER CLOSURE SURFACES OF A,B,C :

In this tooling direction maximum 4.2 degrees for properly for the making the proper draft angle for the perfect assembly for the mold.

SOLID CATPART OF BUMPER DRAWN IN CATIA V5 :

  • Solid Part of Closure surface of Bumper Different views :

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF SOLID CATPART:

Solid body cat part draft angle is maximum is 4.2 degrees and minimum 0 degrees, these draft angle need to maintain for proper assembly direction.

CONCLUSION :

Hence Created the Bumper Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

Bumper Thickness of the component is taken 3 mm.
