Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design
Objective: Creating the Coin holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. The tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface to be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end performing the Draft analysis on the model.
Class A surface of the Coin holder is given for designing the plastic component
Class A surface
It describes the final production surface data for the aesthetic parts

From the given Class A surface a tooling direction is created on the feasible surface. Here i have created the tooling direction normal to the base as all the walls are at perpendicular to the base. After defining the main tooling axis draft analysis for a postive draft of 3 deg

The green colour on the surface represnets that there is no negative draft
Class B surface
To create the class B surface from Class A we have to extract walls extrapolate the surfaes offset the surface by 2.5 mm which is the thickness of the plastic component and join them by trim feature trimming the unwanted surface. Give the proper fillets

Extract the base from class A Expraoplate offset the surfaces and trim the unwanted surfaces. After creating the base trim the base with the wall surface to get the proper shape

Extract the top wall surface offset and trim the surface with the wall surface

To create the outer flange extract the outer flange surface extrapolate the surfaces and offset to inside of 2.5mm

Trim the surface to get the desired shape
Trim the outer flange with the top wall

Class B surface is created
Class C surface
Extract the outer flange surface from class a and extract the border. use the sweep feature to the border at 90 deg to the surface and join with class A surface.

Class C surface is created
Trim the class B surface with class C surface to get the closed surface, using closed surface feature convert into solid body.

Draft analysis is done for the final closed body

Conclusion : Coin holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface is created . The tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface is created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end performed the Draft analysis on the model. Observed no negative draft and the part meet the manufacturing requirement.
