Week 8:- 3D Finishing - Challenges 1

1)3D finish is the process where design is being completely finish & to be ready for final simulation & 2D detailing. - While finishing the design the nominality of holes is checked which ensures the easy assembly of all the units.

2)THE DESIGN PROCESS CONSISTS OF 6 STEPS:

  • Define the Problem. You can't find a solution until you have a clear idea of what the problem is.
  • Collect Information. Collect sketches, take photographs and gather data to start giving you inspiration.
  • Brainstorm and Analyze Ideas. ...
  • Develop Solutions. ...
  • Gather Feedback. ...
  • Improve.
  • 3)Rough locators are used to help locate workpieces in the automation process. Locating refers to the desired location where you want the workpiece to be when it is getting worked on either by a person, team, or robot. It is a device to establish and maintain position of a part in a jig or fixture.
4)BASIC PRINCIPLES OF LOCATING:-To perform properly, workholders must accurately and consistently position the workpiece relative to the cutting tool, part after part. To accomplish this, the locators must ensure that the workpiece is properly referenced and the process is repeatable.
5)The science that deals with the scientific analysis of fired ammunition is called Ballistic Analysis, or simply Ballistics, which Oxford Dictionaries Online define as “the science of projectiles and firearms” or “the scientific study of the effects of being fired on a bullet, cartridge or gun.”
6)The science that deals with the scientific analysis of fired ammunition is called Ballistic Analysis, or simply Ballistics, which Oxford Dictionaries Online define as “the science of projectiles and firearms” or “the scientific study of the effects of being fired on a bullet, cartridge or gun.”
7)Hydraulic, pneumatic or lubrication systems should be efficient and leak free. Sometimes, they are not, because of improper tube line routing—the result of either lack of knowledge, or corners cut on planning time, or both. What can go wrong if routing is not done properly? All kinds of things! From not being able to access fittings for efficient maintenance all the way to leaking connections, inefficient or poor tube routing can create unintended issues that need to be addressed. An ounce of planning is worth a pound of troubleshooting.
8)Solenoid valve function involves either opening or closing an orifice in a valve body, which either allows or prevents flow through the valve. A plunger opens or closes the orifice by raising or lowering within a sleeve tube by energizing the coil. Solenoid valves consist of a coil, plunger and sleeve assembly.
9)A valve bank combines different valves for operating independent consumers. The directional valve bank type BA consists of several valve sections that are atted to sub- plates with NG 6. Using these items compact control blocks can be assembled exibly.
10)In simple terms, Industrial Automation Sensors are input devices which provide an output (signal) with respect to a specific physical quantity (input). Sensors used in Automation: In the industrial automation, sensors play a vital part to make the products intellectual and exceptionally automatic.
11)There are many different types of sensors, the main categories are;
  • Position Sensors.
  • Pressure Sensors.
  • Temperature Sensors.
  • Force Sensors.
  • Vibration Sensors.
  • Piezo Sensors.
  • Fluid Property Sensors.
  • Humidity Sensors.
12)Sensor selection criteria include temperature, size, protection class, and whether the sensor requires a discrete or analog input. Also consider sensor repetition accuracy, sensor response speed, and sensing range.
