Morphing Techniques using ANSA.
AIM:- To check the morphing techniques on the component and its used cases in various industries.
Procedure:-
Morphing techniques are used in the automotive industries for recreating or reshaping the existing model of vehicle for better purposes.
The first step is to clean up the geometry of the model.
In ANSA, morphing can be done on both CAD geometry and FE model which available after the mesh.
The basic method for morphing is MORPHING > BOXES > NEW then in options select FE or GEOMETRY entities on which we are doing morphing.
Then the box is created. This box can be split into the number of boxes required to reshape by selecting one or more points at a time and applying to move option MORPHING > BOX MORPHING > MOVE. This gives the option of moving the point in the X-Y-Z axis all at once or one-by-one.
The boxes created during this process can be deleted after that by MORPHING > BOXES > DELETE.
In the above fig. we see morphing techniques used on FE model of HOOD component.
INDUSTRIAL CASE STUDY:-
Design optimization is used to create a new model with the existing model like Suzuki Swift to Swift Dzire, TATA Indica to Indigo.
There many models in the with the difference in design like a sedan, station wagon, and hatchback versions. FORD FOCUS is a perfect example for MORPHING TECHNIQUES.
CONCLUSION:-
1.) Morphing techniques is been used on few areas of the given model.
2.) Industrial cases.
