TOOL TEST 1
MODEL 1
AIM:- To check for the geometrical errors and mesh the given model 1 (Switch panel) with the given element Quality criteria.
Procedure:-
1.) Geometry Cleanup:-
For proper meshing, we have to eliminate the geometry error which will are in the model. CHECK MANAGER > GEOMETRY > EXECUTE.
In the above fig. left-Hand side check manager box is there which shows the error in the model.
Now, this error is eliminated by the auto-fix option or by manually. But I have preferred auto fix in the below fig.
2.) Mid-Surface:-
In this model, the upper surface of it has a uniform thickness. so we can take offset of that one. Using TOPO > FACES > OFFSET.
Now other parts in this model are too complex like the screw one as shown in below fig.
It complex one, so we have done it carefully by one TOPO > FACES > MIDDLE. Then mid-surface is separately mid-surface so they should be connected to each other to complete the model. Using TOPO > FACES > EXTEND to join them.
4.) Quality Criteria and Mesh Properties:-
Now, we assign the Quality criteria and mesh properties to the model which is given to us for meshing.
5.) Meshing:-
Now, we mesh the model with the best option by dividing them into parts for best mesh flow. Using MESH > MESH GENERATIONS > BEST. We other options as we needed but I used this one to be simple and fast.
Then using MESH > SHELL MESH > RECONSTRUCTION to reconstruction for better flow pattern and the SMOOTH option so that we see it smoothly.
CONCLUSION:-
This is done to the model for Geometry cleanup, Mid-surface, Mesh flow, and Mesh pattern.
TIME TAKEN:- 3:15 HRS.
MODEL 2
AIM:- To check the Geometry error and mesh the model 2 with given elemental quality criteria.
PROCEDURE:-
1.) Geometry cleanup:-
As we see in the above fig. their error in the component which we have cleanup. This error can manually be fixed one at a time but without it done by auto-fix.
2.) Mid-surface:-
In this component, I have done the mid-surface with auto mid-surface method and it can be used only for closed volume component.
using TOPO > FACES > MID.SURFACES.
In above 3 fig. the mid.surfure option works. In this, we select the whole component and further, the one side turns green and another turns red & the thickness of the component turns blue. Then only we will get proper mid-surface.
3.) Equality Criteria and Mesh Properties:-
We assign the Quality Criteria and mesh properties to the component, so we can get proper mesh quality to needed for your purpose.
5.) Meshing:-
In meshing, we divide the mid-surface by parts so we can mesh them with proper mesh flow and mesh quality.
CONCLUSION:-
In this, we have done geometry cleanup, mid-surface, and Mesh with mesh flow and quality.
TIME TAKEN:- Around 3:45 to 4:00 HRS
