Week 7 State of charge estimation

The model that was received from the link shared and after searching we found the BMZ closed loop harness dashboard model. this model has main page which has different indications that indicates this state off the battery pack. They are false state, temperature, overvoltage, charger connected, voltage sensor, low temperature, undervoltage, and inverter. We also have a selector switch which has three options balance the battery pack, chargin, driving slash discharge.

After running the model we can clearly observe in scope that there are three cells connected end the voltages and state of charge of these three cells are determined the charging and discharging phase and balancing phase are done automatically in the program.

this can be observed in one of the graphs where BMS charging driving and standby states are shown. we can see that as this is a act two balancing technique the balance command he's present during both Charging and discharging operations. All the six cells temperatures are monitored in jewel cell voltages are monitored big currents and BMS state he’s monitored continuously. It can be clearly seen that state of charge of one cell is nearly close to 1 while other two is around 92-93%.

That state request is given weather program automatically to the BMSECU in the plant. The plant we can see that battery pack precharge circuit and charge load are connected. Few inputs are taken from the battery pack recharge voltage and this charging station and these are connected to the BMS system

The Coulomb counting method measures the discharging current of a battery and integrates the discharging current over time in order to estimate SOC . Coulomb counting method is done to estimate the , which is estimated from the discharging current, , and previously estimated SOC values, . SOC is calculated by the following equation:
