Week 7- Meshing of Backdoor Challenge

AIM: To extract the mid surface of the backdoor and mesh it with the given criteria.

PROCEDURE:

 1. File of IGES format was imported to the hyper mesh.
 2.Component was checked for any missing surfaces or any deformations.
 3.Since the component is complex for the ease of mid surfacing and meshing the component 
   is divided to 5 subparts.

4. Since the component is symmetric about y axis , half of the component is deleted to save time.

5.Each subpart is checked and topology is done to it.

5. Mid surfaces of the subparts are taken using skin offset option and geometrical clearance is done on it.Toggle option,mask options are used to perform geometrical option.

  No auto clean option is used for the geometrical clean up

6.Meshing is done on each subpart midsuface with mixed element with a length of 5mm.

7.After meshing the error elements are corrected by using cleanup tool option (place node,rebuilt mesh,combine tria element etc) in mesh.

8.Reflect option is used to form the complete geometry and the mesh over it.

Note: 12 errors of min length still exist due the small radii curves in geometry

9. Conclusion:

   Mid surface and meshing is done on the  back door with the given quality criteria
