Week 6-Meshing of Hood Challenge
Aim: To perform 2D meshing on the Hood model
Objective: To extarct the mid surface of the hood model and perform 2D meshing on the surface with the given quality criteria
Target Element Length = 5 Units
| S.N | Quality Criteria | Value |
| 1 | Aspect Ratio | 5 |
| 2 | Skewness | 45 |
| 3 | Warping | 15 |
| 4 | Taper | 0.5 |
| 5 | Min. Length | 2 Units |
| 6 | Max. Length | 8 Units |
| 7 | Min angle Quad | 45 |
| 8 | Max angle Quad | 135 |
| 9 | Min angle Tria | 20 |
| 10 | Max angle Tria | 120 |
| 10 | Tria % | 10 |
Procedure:
Step 1: The model was downloaded as a HM file and and after that geo was checked for free edges and damaged surface's
Step 2: The Mid was extarcted each part and then meshed simultanesous
Step 3: First of all the mid was extracted for Latch then after that manual clean up was done on the surface such as unneccessary points were removed and the edge less than 2mm was toggled

Step 4: The latch was meshed using mixed elements and further the same were cleared which were failing for quality criteria and rebuilding the mesh help in reducing tria elements
Step 5: The mid of hinge was extracted and manual cleanup was done on the model and after that meshing was done on the model

Fig : Mid hinge (Manual cleaned) Fig: Meshed hinge part
Step 6: The Inner extrat was meshed after manual clean up and the element clean up was done on the model
Step 7: The fillet region on the inner extarct was having lots of failed element which were cleaned using clean up tools and finally the proper mesh was attained and then rebuilding of mesh was done surface by surface and finnally the model was ready

Step 8: The property was assigned to each part with material

Conclusion: Hence the model was meshed with the given QC and proper mesh flow was attained
Learning outcomes: got an idea how to extarct mid and manually clean it for proper mesh flow.
learned how to mesh fillet regions and defeature the fillet's
