Week 6-Meshing of Hood Challenge

Aim: To extract the mid surface of given components and assign the thickness.

Working procedure:

Import the model and then do geometry cleanup.

Quality setting:

Extracting mid surface of Inner and toggel unneccessary lines.

Create the base point and trim the surface and delete the surface.

Mesh the surface with given target length.

Place the elemint position or replace nodes.

Here combine the tria and quad elements.

Here check the element quality.

Here reflect the surface.

Outer surface: import the model and extract the mid surface.

Delete the symetrical surface as inner surface component.

After reflecting the surface.

Extract the mid surface of latch.

Mesh the surface and check the element quality as above procedure.

Extract the mid surface of hinge.

Mesh the surface and check the element quality as above procedure.

Create the propeties of all component and material and assign the thick ness.

Note: Due to health issue assignment submission is delayed.

Learning outcome: In this assignment new interface like quality index checks, rebuild mesh, element combine,

and symetry surface cut, reflecting the surface.

Conclusion: Mid surface extraction takes less time but mesh quality arrengement takes time.
