Week 6 - Creating connection for Rear door

AIM :

for the given Rear door FE model, Create and Apply different PIDs for different components. By using the same technique and the elements as shown in the video, Perform suitable connections.

PROCEDURE :

1.open the given rear door through file-open by using ANSA and check for any major errors or mismatching in the model.

2.set different PID for different parts in the model and give proper name and save.

3.analys the model for giving proper connections.

4.connecting the bolt holes with NASTRAN-ELEMENTS-RBE2-many nodes and two nodes.

5.connecting the unmapped portions of hinges to the proper neighbour part by applying seamline.

6.limiting the degree of freedom for the hinges to 1 2 3 4.

7.connecting the lever in the door in to the door frame by using spot line by means of overlapped shell.also connect the rail by using seam line.

8.connecting the main and secondary glass of the door by using spot line with RBE3-C BUSH-RBE3.

9.spot welds are done in the lever by means of RBE3-HEXA-RBE3.

10.do all the connections and check properly.

11.giving proper connection on door handle and applying mass.

1.for setting PIDS = select the component-set pid in faces-selecting pshell-enter-save.

2.for making curves = topo-curves-cons2curves-select-enter.

3.for connecting curves in to spot line/seam line/adhesive..etc = convert-curves-select the curve-select charecter for the curve to be converted-enter for creating spot line.

4.for creating the weld spot = define-manual-pid-multiple parts-select the parts to be weded-enter.

5.for making many node connections = nastran-elements-RBE2-many nodes.

6.for making two nodes = nastran-elements-RBE2-two nodes.

7.for connecting a seam line = connection manager/connection type-select seam line-select p1 and p2-give search dist-ovrlap shell- realise.

8.for connecting a spot line = connection manager/connection type-spot line-select spot line-select p1 and p2-give search dist-spacing-RBE3 CBUSH RBE3-realise.

9.for connecting a spot weld = connection manager/connection type-spot weld-select spot weld-select p1 and p2-give search dist-RBE3 HEXA RBE3-realise.

10.for applying mass = elements-conmi-select point-middle cick-apply mass in tones.

CONCLUSION :

successfully done all the required connections for the given rear door neat and perfect.
