Week 6
steps involved in rear door connections
1. Different PIDs were given to different parts of rear door
2. Create a bolt connections in the hinge joint- create a COG point, then convert 3D point into bolt and connect the parts using bolt connection in the connection manager.
3. also connect the hinge joint using RBE2 and restrict it in Z- axis using 2 node RBE2.
4. Connect the other holes (other than bolt connection) with cluster RBE2.
5. Connect some spot weld connections- by converting 3D point into spot weld point, then define the connection using RBE3-HEXA- RBE3 in connection manager.
6. some elements are connected with spider connection, where holes are not present such as rail connection.
7. Door handle was connected with many node RBE2 and then connected two master nodes with many node RBE2. And 100gm mass was assigned at COG of two master nodes using CONM2 in NAST.
8. window glass connection- first create a curve with FE and copy the bottom part of curve along Y- axis at a distance of 10. then convert all curves into spot line individually. Realised the connection using RBE3-CBUSH-RBE3.
then orient the bushes according to global coordinate.
9. To create rubber strip along the door, create FE to curve and then convert that curve into spot line.
learning outcomes
learn to conects like bolt joint, spot weld, glass connection using bushes, handle connection and other rigid joints using RBE2 (cluster RBE2, spider conections)
