Preprocessor for Cnnection in the REAR DOOR of car by using ANSA.

AIM:- To apply different types of connections in the Rear Door of the car using ANSA.

PROCEDURE:-

In the door assembly, there are many parts that are connected to one another with the help of connections like Bolts, Spot Welds, and Seam Welds. These connections have to develop by us for simulation and its best results.

1.) Hinge:-

It is used to connect the door and the rest of the car. In the above fig. we see the first circle is the bolt is used for connection, there 3 surfaces are connected through the bolt.

We will see how the connection is done.

1st Step:-

In the above fig. we see two circles where connections are to be made, so we have to create a 3D point to make connections by TOPO > POINTS > ON COG.

2nd Step:-

Now, these 3D points are to convert into bolt connections as shown in the above fig.

3rd Step:-

Now, clicking on Connection and selecting the 3D point by middle click-connection manager is opened.

In this, we see the box that is for the surface selection. Max only 4 surfaces can be connected by this type of method.

This type of connection is made between the 3 surfaces in which one end is bolt head and another is the nut. And central line connecting the is the bolt stem.

Now, bolt connection can also be done by other methods as shown below fig.

The only difference between them that is the first consists of the stem of the bolt connection but second is cluster type rigid connection.

Rigid Connection can also be done by RBE2 by NASTRAN > ELEMENTS > RBE2. In this, there are two methods one many node connection and two-node connections.

Now, we will see many node connections for rigid connection.

In the above fig. connection to be made between surface, so we have to select the nodes on the edges.

In the above fig. we see cluster RBE2 connection is developed. If we have also developed the bolt connection then, we have separately made an RBE2 connection and connect their center point with two nodes RBE2.

Two nodes RBE2 connection is shown below fig. by connecting to two cluster connection for connection of the hinge mechanism

2.) SpotWeld:-

It is done when two or more metal sheets together without using any filler material by applying pressure and heat to the area to be welded.

In Door assembly, there are many parts where spot weld is needed. No, we will see how to develop the spot weld.

In the above fig. we have to develop a spot weld connection.

First, we have to create the 3D point by TOPO > POINTS > On COG. Then convert the point into the spotweld point.

Now, click on the connection and selecting the point. The connection manager is opened for detailed input of the connection.

In the above fig. we see spotweld developed but in this center, the node is the slave node and the rest of nodes are the master nodes. But in the RBE2 the center is master node and the rest are the slave nodes.

3.)Door Handle:-

Now, we have made a door connection. Now using RBE2 connection on both sides of the handle for rigid connection, then we connect them with RBE2 and applying mass to the center of the RBE2. But we have connected them with many nodes not with two nodes because by many nodes then only we get the center point to apply mass.

4.) Glass:-

Glass is one which is movable in the assembly up-down. But there is also a rubber strip used around the glass for proper fitting for no heat transfer when A.C is on and many more reasons.

First, we have to select the edges of the glass and convert it to the curve and then convert the the curve to spot line.

Now, selecting the spot line one by one and opening the connection manager and entering the detail as per requirement.

This way connection of the rubber strip look on the glass but vector of each connection is different, so we have made them similar to the global axis for proper simulation and best result.

For that, we have click on the CBUSH on the left top corner of the screen then we will available to see all connection of CBUSH. Select the first one and change it, then respect to it change all of them.

There also another glass which is only on the rear door which is not movable, they are fixed by glue or adhesive.

CONCLUSION:-

1.) Rigid connection.

2.) Spot weld Connection.

3.) CBUSH connection.

4.) Assign body mass.
