Week 5 Sphere pressing on a plate

Aim :

The aim is to analze the given sphere model.

Objective:

Use Structural steel for both sphere and plate but the material of the plate must be Non Linear.

Press the sphere onto plate 4mm downwards and retract it. The plastic deformation must be captured.

Procedure:

Initially open up the ansys workbench,

and add the structural steel nonlinear in the engg data,

then open up the model and edit it in the mechanical ansys,

change the structural steel nonlinear for plate, and

delete the contact point and add it manually,

then add symmetry point,

now generate the mesh and add the fixed and displacement support,

and add the solution requirements,

finally solve it and save it as archive.

The result and animation are attached with the archive in the asset.

Result:

Finally the model has been analyzed with the 4mm and plastic region has been captured.
