Week- 5 - Solid meshing
AIM: To prepare a Solid mesh flow in a Rearview Mirror CAD model as a Pre-processing model using ANSA.
Quality Criteria:
For a 2D model
Min length = 0.5mm
Max length = 2mm
For a 3D model:
Tet Collapse = 0.2
Objective:
To import the 2D CAD model into the ANSA user interface.
To check for the geometrical error in the model.
To generate 2D mesh on the components based on given Quality criteria.
To generate 3D Tetra volume mesh on the component using any tetra mesh possible.
Procedure:
Import the CAD model into ANSA GUI as an IGS or IGES file
Check for geometrical errors in it
Geometry Cleanup:
Before starting up the mesh in the model, we have to check for any kind of geometrical errors in it.
To Check "Check -> Geometry -> Select the model -> Execute"
In the check manager, we select the model if there is any error in it.
It shows an error in it.
Nearly after executing the model, we can see 606 single cons and some Triple cons
Once to clear this error now changing the perimeter size of the component to 1mm
Then execute the geometry cleanup and select all the cons and click the Fix option in it.
Then geometric errors is been fixed by using the Auto Fix option.
Quality Criteria:
Select the model for the meshing process, in 2D meshing.
First, I have to assign the proper parameter to get proper mesh flow.
2D Meshing:
Select the Model, for 2D meshing for the whole model.
Here I have used Batch meshing as an Ortho tria element for meshing.
All together there are 107144 element in it.
3D Meshing:
To convert 2D to 3D elements first we have to create a Define for it.
Once assigned to the Property of Solid for the selected component we have to Select what kind of Tetra element is required.
Here I have chosen Tetra Rapid mesh for all the parts.
To view only the 3D mesh below part as shown:
To view the Final output of the model it is the combination of both 2D and 3D mesh in it.
Conclusion:
For the given Solid model, geometry cleanup, volume mesh and all quality criteria are been performed and done successfully with no OFF element in it.
