Week 5.2 - Multi Level Meshing

Project statement: To inspect the elements with poor quality and mesh bleeding. and to improve mesh resolution.

Techniques used: 1. MLM

                          2. uniform mesh params

                          3. cut cell meshing

                          4. size region

Procedure:

1. Initial mesh was generated which had poor skewness and failed to capture significant region with fine resolution.

2. After initial inspection, some mesh params have been changed as given below.

3. The mesh cut plane is shown in X,Y,Z directions. which shows Non conformal mesh interface with hanging nodes.

4. After rigorous fine tuning the cad surface have resolved with good quality mesh.

5. The above settings shows inputs in Global and MLM mesh setting. Size region is employed fine tune mesh further.

6. After all set ups final face alignment of 0.27 is achieved which satisfies required mesh criteria.

7. The inital skewness is very poor but after fine tunning improved the mesh skewness above 0.2 except 17 cells which remains in 0.058(below 0.05 mesh severely distorted).

8. The 17 cells with skewness range between 0.058-0.2 is shown which lies in corners. and 0.058 is accepted below this value is not accepted so the meshing objective have been reached.
