Week 4:- Pin Unit Design Challenge
FIX PIN UNIT
Project Named as P001_Z01_ST010_00_00
It is necessary to have two pins to lock the car panel (component). And here one pin must arrest 4 ways (4 translation ) and the other must arrest 2 ways (ie rotational ) of car panel.
Some standards dimensions
The pin should engage 3mm to 5mm from the component entry surface.
Distance Between the Pin flange and the bottom of the component must be 10mm to 15mm.
There must be keep space for spacers of 5mm
The spacers dimensions - 1 spacer of 2mm, 2 spacers of 1mm and 2 spacers of 0.5mm.
The procedure followed for FIX PIN UNIT
- Created a Pin of specific dimensions wrt the component, in this case, it is a pin of dia 45mm.
- The axis of the pin and the component hole should be coincident with each other.
- Following through that created a pin retainer wrt to pin earlier created.
- After creating a pin retainer there must be a hole in the retainer for the pin for making an attachment to the pin.
- To tighten the pin and retainer used a bolt from dictionaries of M12 standards.
- Block / L-Block is created the pin retainer will be fixed to a block to the riser with 2 dowel holes and at least with one screw hole to maintain the tolerance.
- These parts are mainly used to accommodate the shimming director as per fundamental in general.
- The dowel holes created were 8 mm diameter and screw hole 9 mm in dimensions.
- As per the general procedure there will be always a tolerance in every part of the unit to overcome this tolerance shims/spacers are used.
- After creating a pin, pin retainer and block blade is created
-It is part that connects the part of the unit to a riser the small holes are crested to the blade also.
- After all these finally Riser a created Riser is a part on which all the parts of the unit are mounted and is mounted on the base plate of a tool.
The procedure followed for RETRACTABLE PIN UNIT
- For retractable pin unit the steps for creating pin and pin retainer are similar to the fix pin unit procedure.
- For retractable pin units, cylinders are used to movement in a particular direction.
- Cylinders are imported from Trunkers actuators libraries.
- In this case, MZ_63_V_50_G_T02_TUENKERS is used.
- Here the stroke of the cylinder is 40 mm.
- After the cylinder is imported and snapped at its position L-block and spacers are positioned as per the holes created similar to the fix pin unit
