Week 4:- Pin Unit Design Challenge
AIM:-
- To design four pin units, two fixed and two retractable, with different combinations of pins, risers, blades, cylinders, and blocks, to meet the specific requirements of different workpieces.
A fixed pin unit is a type of hole-constraining fixture that is used to locate car panels. It consists of the following parts:
<!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Pin: The pin is the main part of the unit that engages with the hole in the car panel. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and has a cylindrical shape.
<!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Pin retainer: The pin retainer holds the pin in place and prevents it from coming out of the hole. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and has a C-shaped or U-shaped profile.
<!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Shim/spacer: The shim or spacer is used to adjust the position of the pin in the hole. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and has a flat or domed shape.
<!-- [if !supportLists]-->· Block: The block is the base of the unit and provides a mounting surface. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and has a rectangular or square shape.
<!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Blade or adapter plate: The blade or adapter plate is used to transfer the load from the pin to the block. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and has a flat or domed shape.
<!-- [if !supportLists]-->· <!--[endif]-->Riser: The riser is used to raise the pin above the surface of the block. It is typically made of steel or aluminum and has a cylindrical shape.

2. Design 2 Different types of Retractable Pin Unit with Different Pins, Riser, Blade, Cylinder, and Block.
SZK 40.. -63 RETRACTABLE LOCAT. PIN
Compact pneumatic cylinder with a flat design, enclosed in an aluminum housing with multiple mounting options. It features a precision-guided piston rod, an anti-rotation mechanism, and a centric receptacle for centering pins. This cylinder is driven by an oblong-shaped flat cylinder with a diameter of 40/63, capable of exerting forces of approximately 1200 kN. It also incorporates integrated inductive sensing.
