1.What is the difference between mapped and dynamic model of engine, motor and generator? How can you change model type?

DYNAMIC MODELS	MAPPED MODELS
Dynamic engines decompose engine behavior into individual component models that account for engine dynamics, most notably intake airflow and turbocharger dynamics	Mapped engines represent macro engine behavior as a set of lookup tables (brake torque, fuel flow, air mass flow, exhaust temperature, efficiency, and emissions) as functions of commanded load and measured engine speed.
Dynamic engine models are suitable for designing control, estimator, and diagnostic algorithms that depend on dynamic subsystem states, for example, in closed-loop AFR control algorithm development.	Mapped engine models are suitable for analysis and design activities that do not require engine subsystem dynamic characteristics, for example, in engine and transmission powertrain matching analysis for fuel economy, emissions, and performance tradeoffs.

You can switch between engine model types based on your application.To do this head over to the modelling tab on the top most list of options-------->"Variant Manager"-------->Click on the component whose model you'd like to change and set it as the label mode active choice.

Q2.How does the model calculate miles per gallon? Which factors are considered to model fuel flow?

• ans}To see how we need to go where the calculation happens.That is the Performance characteristics block within the Visualization block.
• Vehicle speed data is used to calculate the distance travelled in metres which can be converted to miles.
• According to the US EPA 1 gallon is equivalent to 33.7KW. So power data from the battery  can be used by dividing with 33.7 to find equivalent gallons.Then dividing miles travelled with no.of gallons gives what we want.

• 3.Run the HEV ReferenceApplication with WOT drive cycle. Change the grade and wind velocity in the environment block. Comment on the results.

ans} My matlab trial did'nt respond to the reference application opening command ( even after several minutes)and Matlab online lags extremely and its not possible to handle it.
