Week 4 Challenge : CFD Meshing for BMW car
Aim : To mesh the given model with the required target length and create a wind tunnel and mesh it.
Procedure :
1) As the model is symmetrical, geometrical cleanup can be done on one part and other part can be mirrored

2) Delete the geometry which is not aligning with the current geometry and create new surfaces accordingly

3) Logo has to be cleaned up and the interior parts have to be deleted.

4) Clean the geometry of mirror of the car.

5) Clear all the intersecting surfaces by using intersect option

6) Measure the distance between front end and back end of car.

7) Wind tunnel has to be designed for which the dimensions have to be in the proportions of the cars length.

8) The distance from front end of car to front surface of wind tunnel is 4x(car length).
The distance from rear end of car to rear surface of wind tunnel is 6x(car length).
The distance from top end of car to top surface of wind tunnel is 3x(car length)
The distance from side of car to side surface of wind tunnel is 1x(car length) for both sides.
.
9) Mesh the wind tunnel with a growing mesh length from 30 mm to 110 mm.
