Objective: To calculate the Earthpressure acting on the abutṁent wall and apply on the staadpro.

Given : Diagram shown in above

Assumption :

Unit Weight of Soil : 19 KN/m3

Active Pressure Coffiecient: 0.25

Base Slab width: 7m

Unit Weight of Water: 10 KN/m3

Solution :

Calculation of Active Pressure from Backfill side

At Layer B-B

Pa= 19x4x0.25= 19KN/m2

At Layer C-C

Pa= (19x4-10x3) x 0.25 + 10x30.25= 33.25 KN/m2

Calculation of Active Pressure from GL side

Pa= 19x3x0.25= 14.25 KN/m2
