Week 4

Objective:-

To check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given element Quality criteria for the given bottle cap model.

Procedure:-

CAD Cleanup

Open the CAD model in ANSA and Check for the geometry.

Check Manager -> Geometry -> Execute

Fix all those errors that appear in geometry check.

Inactivate the unwanted parts in component. Property`->`Switch Off or On the bulb

Measure the thickness of both of different part using measure node to node. Node can be created using spot weld tool.

Extract the mid surface for different parts using offset tool or middle tool as per the requirement . Set different new PID for the mid surface.

Manage the orientaion of mid surface as per the requirement using orient tool.

TOPO Cleanup:-

Remove all the unnecessary cuts and hot points which can probably create quality criteria issuse.

Meshing:-

Select the mesh mode and select the quality criteria. Provide the lenght of element using length tool with minimum and maximum length.

Start meshing the each part of model using best tool and refine the mesh using restructure, smooth, swap, join,split etc. Number of hot point can either be increased or decreased using Num +/- to get better mesh.

Conclusion:-

We should ignore minimum length criteria for specific kind of geometry with very sharp edge and less area.
