Challenge

Week - 4

1.Implement control logic of a “washing machine” using Stateflow as per given sequence:

If the power supply is available, the system gets activated

If the Water supply is not available, stop the process & indicate through LED

Soaking time should be 200s followed by Washing time of 100s.

Then rinsing happens for next 20s & dryer runs for 50s

solution:

water supply:

A washing machine is normally connected to the cold and hot water systems, but quite a few will work with just a cold supply while dishwashers usually only need a cold supply. If your machine is supplied from the pipe that feeds your kitchen tap, the water will be at mains pressure.

soak time:

oak Function is used to dip clothes in detergent water to remove dirt from the clothes. In this function customer need to select soak from a panel

Soak - This function is available with wash timer, In 42 min of washing 27 min is soak and 15 min machine will wash the clothes.

Firstly, pulsator will rotate for 1 min and then next 4 min machine will be at rest position then again it will rotate for a minute. This function will be repeated throughout the time which was selected by customer for soak.

Washing Time:

A normal wash cycle usually takes between 50 minutes to an hour to complete. However, this time could be faster or slower depending on load size and the cycles or options you choose. That's one of the reasons it's important to know how to choose the right washer cycle.

Rinsing Time:

Rinse: The dirty, soapy water is drained, then the washing machine is refilled and your clothes are "rewashed" in clean water. Spin: All the water is drained completely, then your clothes are spun very fast and excess water is removed thanks to centrifugal force.

Dryer Time:

A normal drying cycle can add around 45 minutes to your laundry routine for a total washing and drying time of about an hour and 45 minutes. Drying cycle times can vary, with delicates cycles taking around 15 minutes and heavy duty towels cycles taking close to 3 hours.

2. Make a Simulink chart for the “Gear shift” logic as per below conditions:

Speed Range(kmph) Gear

0 to 15 1

16 to 25 2

26 to 40 3

41 to 60 4

Above 61 5

Give speed input while the simulation is running & display the gear number.

SOLUTION:

when speed is o to 15

when speed is 16 to 25

when speed is 26 to 40

when speed is 41 to 60

when speed is above 61
