1. Washing Machine

GIVEN DATA:
The different states for washing machines
a. Soaking – 200 secs (0-200secs)
b. Washing – 100 secs (200-300secs)
c. Rinsing – 20 secs (300-320secs)
d. Drying – 50 secs (320-370secs)
e. Completed

Soaking-
If the power supply and Water supply is available, the system gets activated. Soaking time should be 200secs and if the operation time exceeds the 200th second the soaking opeation will be totally executed.

Washing-
After the soaking process, the washing process will get started and the provided time or the time required to complete the operation is 100 seconds. The total time for the operation to complete is 300.

Rinsing-
After the Washing process, the Soaking process will get started and the provided time or the time required to complete the operation is 20 seconds. And the water is not required during this opeartion so we need to cut the supply of the water. The total time for the operation to complete is 320.

Drying-
After the Rinsing process, the Drying process will get started and the provided time or the time required to complete the operation is 50 seconds. And the water is not required during this opeartion so we need to cut the supply of the water. The total time for the operation to complete is 370.

After the 370th second the whole opeations are said to be completed. So, to show the output we need to provide of completion we just need to working time as more than 370.

2. Make a Simulink chart for the “Gear shift” logic
Given Data
Speed Range(kmph) Gear
0 to 15 1
16 to 25 2
26 to 40 3
41 to 60 4
Above 61 5
A typical Gear Box looks as the picture attached below

Model-

State Flow-

- The Slider Gain Block has been provided so that the input can be varied by the user.
- A scope is provided so that the output can be viewed.
Output:

- The line on 0 shows that it is in Neutral position during the time.
Every Time the speed is equals to zero the Postion of the Gear is Neutral.

Every Time the speed is Greater than zero the Postion of the Gear is said to be in 1.

Every Time the speed is Greater than 15 and Less than 25 the Postion of the Gear is said to be in 2.

Every Time the speed is Greater than 25 and Less than 40 the Postion of the Gear is Said to be in 3.

Every Time the speed is Greater than 40 and Less than 60 the Postion of the Gear is Said to be in 4.

Every Time the speed is Greater than 60, Postion of the Gear is Said to be in 5.
