Week 4 - 2D Meshing for Sheet Metal

Objective:

- For the given CCB CAD model, Checking for the Geometry cleanup , Taking the mid surface, and Meshing it with respect of the givien 2D element Quality criteria.

Approches:

Firstly, the cad model has been separated to many properties in order to get geometry cleanup, generating a mid-surface and do the mesh in a proper manner.

The first step taken in each property is to define a parameter length as given in this challenge as 5mm. Then I used topology command to ensure that each face of the property is connected in a proper manner.

Before taking the mid surface of the selected property, I have checked the geometry to make sure there is no error showing in the property. After that, with taking care of using a 'Skin' option in the Mid-surface, I have unchecked the delete the org. face.

After the mid surface is generated, I have set the quality cirteria as required in this challenge.

Using a classic mesh model in order to start the mesh with respect to set the parameter length as 5 mm as required.

After the mesh was taken, I have checked for any quality criteria failure along the mesh and took out any excessive trias as possible as I can.

Each step written above was repeated for all other properties of the CAD Model.

conclusions:

As a conclusion, I learned from this challenge some new commands such as ' collaps' , 'paste' that helped me to get the mesh in a good shape as possible.
