Week - 4 - 2D meshing for Plastic components

Aim: To extract the mid surface and mesh the given bottle cap and assign correct thickness.

The mentioned quality criteria is as shown below:

Steps:

• First import the file into ANSA > Perform TOPO > Perform Geometry Checks and fix the errors.

• Create New PID and assign the midsurface extracted into them and assign thickness.

Using OFFSET option:

Using Middle option:

• Create the midsurface by using offset and middle option.
• Assign quality parameters for shell.

• Create shell mesh by using BEST MESH option and reconstruct if there are any errors.
• Use improve mesh for better mesh quality.

CONCLUSION:

Following cap is obtained after complete meshing of the bottle cap.
