Week 4.1: Project - Steady state simulation of flow over a throttle body

AIM:- Set up and run the steady state simulation for flow over throttle body.

OBJECTIVES:-

  1. Setup case is such a way that result should be more detail near throttle surface with the help of fixed embedding
  2. observe the pressure , velocity , mass flow rate and cell count with help of line plotting deck and take a note

3.also see the post results with the help of 3d post processing tool or software (we will use paraview here)

PROCESSES:-

1.FIRST UP OF ALL WE WILL IMPORT THE GEOMETRY IN OUR CONVERGE CFD SOFTWARE AND RUN A DIGNOSIS TOOL ON IT AND FIND IF THERE ARE ANY DEFECTS IN OUR GEOMETRY TRY TO RESOLVE IT

(IN THIS CASE WE WILL REMOVE UNWANTED THICKNESS AS IT IS OF NO USE TO USE AND SELL THE OPEN SURFACE)

  1. (OVERALL SENERIO WOULD LOOK LIKE AS SHOWN IN FIG)

2. THEN WE ARE READY TO GO IN THE CASE SETUP TREE FOR SETTING UP OUR SIMMULATIONAND WE WILL BEGIN THE CASE SETUP. WE WILL GIVE ALL THE REQUIRED CONDITIONS SUCH AS MATTERIAL, APPLICATION TIME,BOUNDRY CONDITON ECT AND SO ON. (IT WOULD LOOK LIKE AS SHOWN IF FIG BELOW AFTER COMPLETION )

3. AFTER THE CASE HAS BEEN SETUP IN CONVERGE WE ARE READY TO EXPORT OUR INPUT FILE AND POSTPROCESS OUR RESULT WITH THE HELP OF CYGWIN COMMANDPROMPT INTERFACE LIKE SOFTWARE AND PROCESS OUR RESULT BY SOLVING NAVIER-STROKE EQUATIONS WITH THE HELP OF OUR SYSTEM PROCESSER(you can also use conventional command prompt for this step)

.AFTER THAT WE NEED THE HELP OF A SOFTWARE WHICH CAN PROCESS THESE FILES AND GIVE US 3D OUTPUT AND HERE WE WILL TAKE HELP FROM PARAVIEW AND ANALYSE OUR RESULTS AND GRAPHS AND MAKE OBSERVATIONS (IN OUR CASE ITS PARAVIEW)

OBSERVATION:-

Mesh for given problem

  1. pressure countour

3.mass flow rate

3.avrage velocity

5.cell count
