Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
AIM: surface meshing on the pressure valve with different mesh size and observing the result
OBJECTIVE:
- what happen to the surface with different mesh size
- cleaning the surface of pressure valve
- assigning different pid to the components of pressure valve
PROCEDURE:
- We open our cad model in ansa software as we observe there were holes and missing surfaces in our model as shown below

With the help of topo deck we solve this issue there are various option to add delete create faces, cones, surfaces, with the help of topo deck we clean our geometry and done required manipulation
- After the 1st step in next step proper pid regions were assigned so it become esay to work on geometry so u can lock different pid regions and work on them comfortably
- After the 2nd step the next step was to perform geometrical check and resolve the errors associated with it
- And then we are ready for our final step of meshing and hence we shifted from topo deck to 2d meshing deck
- After meshing with different element size result were observed
RESULTS:
Meshing with 5mm element size

Meshing with 3mm

Meshing with 1mm size

CONCLUSION: as the mesh is smaller the geometry is captured more accurately as the size is increase geometry is not capture properly and also nuber of nodes increases as sixe of element is decrease
