Week - 3 Drop test Challenge
AIM:The analysis has to be carried out for the mobile casing and calculate the required outputs like stress generated when it is impacted, velocity variation at the time of impact.
PROCEDURE:
- First the model is downloaded and check if any extra parts are available or not other than the mobile case and ground plate.
- If it is there, go to tree in the top left corner and open it and right click on it and delete it.

- Then the material properties has to be created, for mobile case the aluminium properties can be given whereas ground plate can be assigned with concrete properties.

- Create the solid section as both the mobile case and ground plate are solids.

- Later the contact has to be defined for the two parts and the slave part as the mobile case and master part as the ground plate.

- Initial velocity has to be defined for the nodes of the mobile case as -13mm/ms. The distance between the mobile case and ground plate is 20.2mm the time required to reach the ground plate is 1.6ms so the termination time is taken as 2.2 seconds to capture the whole impact and rebounce.

- Then using the Database keyword the ASCII as well as D3plot has to be given

- Then this keyword file is submitted to LS-RUN and get the output results.

- The results for the drop test has been given below as the plots and the figures.

CONCLUSIONS: For the mobile case the drop test has been conducted and the required outputs has been obtained.
