Week 3 Challenge : CFD meshing on Turbocharger

Surface Meshing:
1. If there is any overlapped surface there must be glitching or triple cons present there.
2. If there is single con there must be a missing surface.
3. If there is any unwanted surface we can delete surface by universal delete option.
4. In the compressor casing we have to create new surface by going to faces and then new.
eg Faces--> New.
5. If loop is not creating good surface we have to click Hot points then multi project. eg: Hot points--> Multi project. By creating hot points the benefit is that we can create small surface. Surface can be filled and created by clicking, Cons then Fill Hole eg. CONS-->Fill Hole
6. Intersect option can trim the part. Intersect can be selected from Faces.
7. Triple cons can be manually deleted by using release option available in Cons. eg: CONS--> Release.
8. Topo is opposite of release, it create double cons out of 2 single con. Similarly 3 single con can merge into triple cons. If at particular surface there is one single con and other double con then release is used to create 2 single cons. Now total 3 cons are present, by using Topo 3 single cons converted into triple cons.
9. Two paste two surface both the surface are selected and middle click can paste two surface.
10. After geometrical cleanup done model can be closed by creating surface. PID names can be assigned in properties.
11. If two surfaces are mating and mesh length of both the surfaces are different, meshing at some of the surfaces get deleted, the solution to this problem is that we have to again mesh it with assigned mesh length. Cut option from macros is used where two surfaces are intersecting and mesh length is varying.
The benefit we get from cut option is that the enclosed surface where cut option is used is having different length only otherwise all other surface will be having uniform mesh length.
Volumetric Mesh:
1. By selecting define then auto detect all enclosed volumes will show up.
2. Particular volume is selected which we have to delete i.e. the volume which are not enclosed can be deleted. Thickness component of parent geometries can be deleted.
3. In order to mesh particular volume we have to select particular volume by right click in volume list, then select remesh option then we have to select tetra CFD.
4. Doing this to all Volumes we can create volumetric mesh also.
Note: Unable to upload volumetric mess file may be bcoz of bigger file size. Therefore, i am uploading snapshot. Surface mesh file has been attached.
