Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
1. We will go to checks then geometry and execute. After executing we will check errors and try to correct them.
2. To create new faces, I went to faces then to created new surfaces by using loop and ENT method wherever required.
3. In a wireframe mode i can check if the length of cons are same or not. In wireframe mode con can be selected by double clicking.
4. Removed cut wherever distance between two lines are same by clicking right button, it will delete yellow line and orange line will appear.
5. Now created new PID by going to properties and assigned PID for different parts by assigning colours to them.
6. If PID assigned is not visible we will compress it.
7. Meshing can be done by going to perimeters, selecting length assigning mesh length in perimeter, macros, mesh parameter and quality.
8. Then mesh generation and middle click created mesh of particular length.
Mesh parameter of 1 mm length is showing good result because in 1 mm number of elements will increase. Surhace finish is good for 1 mm mesh length than 3 mm and 5 mm.
If I have a smaller surface and want to mesh for larger length that will not happen. The diameter of spring is approx 3.4 mm which is less than mesh length of 5 mm. Therefore it will not create good mesh and mesh length of 1 mm will be better than 3 mm and 5 mm.
