Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1. Vehicle type= EV_defaults_in

Cargo mass=500 kg

Drive cycle=FTP drive cycle.

Follow following steps:

Step 1:- Open the advisor tool and click start to open the vehicle input in the advisor simulator

Step 2:- Search for the 'EV_Defaults_in' file from the load file and click the file to open.

Step 3:- change cargo mass to 500 kg.

Step 4:- Then click continue to open the simulation parameters.

Step 5:-Select the ‘CYC FTD' file from the drive cycle list in the advisor tool.

Step 6 :- Click run.

Step 7 :- Given different number of drive cycles.

a) For 1 drive cycle distanced travalled is 11.

b) For 2 drive cycle distance travalled is 22.

c) For 4 drive cycle distance travalled is 25.7.

d) For 10 drive cycle distance travalled is 25.7.

Observation:-

The vehicle cannot travel for 45 km with an FTP drive cycle. Because in increases of cargo mass to 500 kg.

2. Follow the following steps:

Step 8:-( In continuation of above) Change battery capacity .

a) Set as 15 kw and check for different drive cycles.

b) Set as 35 kw and check for different drive cycles.

Observation:-

1.Whenever the battery capacity is less than 25Kw, the vehicle travels less distance.

2.Whenever the battery capacity is more than 25 Kw, the vehicle travels more distance.

3.If energy is more the distance travelled by vehicle is more, and if the energy is less the distance travelled by vehicle is less.

3. Follow the following steps:

Step 1:- Open the advisor tool and click start to open the vehicle input in the advisor simulator

Step 2:- Search for the 'PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in' file from the load file and click the file to open.

Step 3:- Click on continue.

Step 4:- select grade options.

Step 5:- Give different speed.

a)Change speed as 55 mph.

b)Change speed as 65 mph.

c)Change speed as 75 mph.

d)Change speed as 85 mph.

e)Change speed as 95 mph.
