Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

Ans.1- For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle.

1.Fristly Run the advisor in Matlab And Select the Metric for Calculation in kelometers(Km).

2.Then in ADVISOR Vehicle Input GUI selesct Load File "EV_defaults_in" from the drop down menu and Change the Cargo Mass to 500kg in the bottom right corner. Then Press Continue.

3.Select The Drive_Cycle as "CYC_FTP" From next GUI window with no change in other parameters. Run it.

Result: In the result window we can see that, The distance is 17.8km for single drive Cycle. Then we use 3 Drivecycle to find out the that the vehicle can travel 45km or not we found that the distance os 41.4 km So, the vehicle can't travel Upto45km in a single charge. We can also see that the SOC become 0 after near 5500 secs. Emission =0 Because it ans a Electric Vehicle. Overall Efficiency 0.357.

2.Ans-  On changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

Set Energy Storage= ESS_PB65_FocusEV

Keeping other Parameters same in this window:

Again the Distance is 17.4km for Single DriveCycle. And Battery is 0.85 SOC. Then we change the drivecycle to 6 .The SOC become Zero ay 13000 and the distance covered is 96km. So in single charge the vehicle can travel 96km. Emission is still 0.

ANS-3   Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file:

 

 In load file drop down menu select "PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in" and keep all the other parameters same and press Continue.

Select the Gradeability checkbox and then select Grade Option. Then Change the speed and check the result in Result Window.

Varing the value and check the result and Gradeability. And perpare a Table in Excel:
