Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

AIM : To use advisor tool and simulate the following.

1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle?

2. In the above case, to change the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

3. To Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file and to compare the results.

SIMULATION :

1. * Firstly open advisor tool and select the corresponding model in local file.

* The values are pre defined but we can change them to get different results. Here we have changed cargo mass to 500 and system is made to run. The observations are illustrated in figures given below.

fig2 ( In first drive cycle the vehicle travels 12km and 30-35% of battery is consumed.)

fig3 (In next cycle the consumption of battery is 50% and vehicle travels 24km)

fig4 ( now 100% battery is consumed and it travels around 41.5km)

* Therefore with given values the vehicle cannot travel 45km.

2. * In the fig 1 , we need to change the battery module and the voltage capacity of battery also changes according to it and the system is observed.

* Module is set as 28

* As it is an EV ,the vehicle emission stays 0.

3. * Gradeability is the measure of ability of a vehicle to climb hills or slopes.

* Toyota prius model is opened. Click continue.

*To perform grade test change the values of speed and duration of time.

* For above speed and time we have got gradeability of 24.4%

*Similarly gradeability can be measured by changing values of speed and time.
