Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1) For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
* The first step is loading the EV_defaults_in file from the menu list.
* Now, changing the cargo mass of the vehicle to 500kg, when it is changed the change in the total mass of the vehicle can be seen, then click on the continue button and after that a new window will open up.

* In the simulation parameter window chnage the drive cycle to CYC_FTP as given in the question.
* After that the No. of cycles can be set as required and after that press the run button in the simulation parameter window will show the required results.
* First we give 1 drive cycle as input and find the results.

* From the results window it is seen tht the distance traveled by the vehicle in 1 drive cycle is 17.8km.
* Now, increasing the drive cycle to 2.

* The distance travelled with 2 drive cycle is 35.5km.
* Now, increasing the drive cycle to 3.

* the distance travelled with 3 drive cycle is 41.4km( used completely 100% SOC).
** Results:
No.of drive cycles:1
Distance:17.8km(minimum distance)
No.of drive cycles:2
Distance:35.5km
No.of drive cycles:3
Distance:41.4(maximum distance)
** Therefore, the vehicle cannot travel for 45km with FTP drive cycle.
2) In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.
* In the first window of advisor tool we must chage the battery capacity.
* The battery capacity is described as '#of mod V nom', we will be changing the value in the first box in the order and we can see the changes occuring in remaining two boxes.
First box:module number of batteries
Second box:voltage
Third box: weight

* After this a new simulation window will open where we will be giving the drive cycle inputs.
** Now, with 26-modules and 2-drive cycles:

** Now, with 27-modules and 2-drive cycles:

** Now, with 28-modules and 2-drive cycles:

** Now, with 26-modules and 3-drive cycles:

** Now, with 27-modules and 3-drive cycles:

** Now, with 28-modules and 3-drive cycles:

** Results:
Drive cycle:2
Battery module:26
Voltage:321
Distance:35.5km
Battery weight:286
Drive cycle:2
Battery module:27
Voltage:333
Distance:35.5km
Battery weight:297
Drive cycle:2
Battery module:28
Voltage:345
Distance:35.5km
Battery weight:308
Drive cycle:3
Battery module:26
Voltage:321
Distance:42.7km
Battery weight:286
Drive cycle:3
Battery module:27
Voltage:333
Distance:44.8km
Battery weight:297
Drive cycle:3
Battery module:28
Voltage:345
Distance:46.3km
Battery weight:308
** We can see that with 28-modules and 3-drive cycles the distance traveled is 46.3km.
** We can also see that with 2-drive cycles we get constant distance traveled and by changing the drive cycle to 3 we get different distances traveled by the vehicle.
*** Therefore, to cover 45km distance 28-module, 345-voltage and 3-drive cycle is required.
3) Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file and Compare your results in table and conclude.
* First in Advisor tool window select the PIRUS_Jpn_default model and continue to the next window.
* Now, a simulation parameter window will open, here select the gradeability test and click on the grade option to get a new window where we can change the speed and the time.

* After that click on the run button to get the reluts.
