ADVISOR Tool:

ADvanced VehIle SimulatOR.

It is created by the NREL (National Laboratory for Renewable Energy & Department of Energy USA.

Development phase is 1994 to 2004.

Benifits:

• estimate the fuel economy of vehicles that have not yet been built
• learn about how conventional, hybrid, or electric vehicles use (and lose) energy throughout their drivetrains
• compare relative tailpipe emissions produced on a number of cycles
• evaluate an energy management strategy for your hybrid vehicle’s fuel converter
• optimize the gear ratios in your transmission to minimize fuel use or maximize performance, etc.

Selected the EV_defaults_in file with all other default conditions.

Defined input of Cargo mass is 500 kg .

Added FTP Driving cycle.

FTP Driving cycle:

The FTP-75 (Federal Test Procedure) has been used for emission certification and fuel economy testing of light-duty vehicles in the United States. The test is often referred to as simply ‘FTP’ (this should not be confused with test for heavy-duty engines).

The following are some basic parameters of the cycle:

• Duration: 1877 s
• Distance traveled: 11.04 miles (17.77 km)
• Average speed: 21.2 mph (34.12 km/h).
• Maximum speed: 56.7 mph (91.25 km/h).

Simulation Results:

With FTP driving cycle adding cargo mass 500 kg it is not reaching to the 45 km. and Results is 41.4 km . Distance is also beyond the EV Range.

Here Battery Modules are 25 and with Default EV Range is 308 V.

Changing the Battery Parameters ,

25 is to 40 Modules

308 IS TO 493 V.

Simulation Results:

EV range is 493 V of 40 modules. Distance is reached 46.8km.

When increasing the EV modules,the mass of vehicle is increases. if mass increased Inertia of body is also increased compare with Default Vehicle.

Performing Gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file

Tayota Prius is well known Hybrid car in Japan , USA, Europe . Manufactured Since 1997 to Present by Tayota Japanese Car maker.
