Week 3
ABSTRACT :
To check and clear the all the geometrical errors and get a good mesh flow with a given quality criteria.
METHODOLOGY :
- Import the model.
- Clean up the geometry.
- Extracting the midsurface from the parent geometry.
- Apply and check the mesh flow.
- Checking the quality and customising it if errors.
INTRODUCTION :
The hood is used to cover all the major parts placed in car which is supported by hinged system. The hood can be modified into different shapes. It is made up with other car materials like aluminium, plastic, steel etc.It contains a hood ornaments, hood scoop, power bulge and a wiper which makes great in safety of the parts it covers.
PROCEDURES :
Importing the geometry and clean up the geometry.

Figure-1 (imported model)
Topology:
- It stiches all the cons which cleans the geometry and easy to operate it.
- Check the geometry by check manager which identifies all types od errors in the model and make sure that model is cleaned up by 100% or tick mark in check manager.

Figure-2 ( check manager)
Midsurfacing:
- Once the geometry is cleaned up, select the offset and a surface to extract a midsurface.
- Do the topology to stich all the necessary cons.

Figure-3 ( midsurface)
PID's:
- Assign the PID's for different sufaces so its easy to analise the quality and mesh flow.

Figure-4 ( assigning the PID'S)
Setting up the quality criteria.
Meshing:
- Before meshing is done we should set up the target lenght and perimeter length of the mesh.
- In this best mesh is used to get the better result and flow.
- Checking teh geometry mesh flow and quality criteria and making the required corrections.
- For good geometry there should be no off elements otherwise quality criteria will be failed.

LEARNING OUTCOME:
From this i get to used to operate most essential options like;
- Cut
- Offset
- Mesh options etc..
Came to know how ANSA plays a vital role in developing a product.
RESULT:
The geometry is passed with required quality criteria and good mesh flow assigned with thickness.
