Week 3 - 2D meshing for Sheet metal

AIM-

to extract the midsurface and then mesh the component with given quality parameter and design the thickness  on hood component.

OBJECTIVE-

hood componnet is given the five different component parts.

1) Hatch

2) left and right hinge.

3)Inner panel and outer panel.

4) outer panel.

to assign property of each part with their parent component thickness and mesh the component with the largest size 5mm as per given quality parameter.

PROCEDURE-

the hood component geometry is open the ansa  for meshing. the file is open with the STP format. the hood component has four component parts which are locked diffrently to see each part indivisually to extract the middle surface and mesh the component.

command( inot+ neighbour all + selecting the all faces + select the store lock ( for all components)

the topology theb checking the unneccesary cons is parent component the deform the faces , crack in the geomerty . after the checking the error the checking the error in the checking fixed auto but executing the auto -fix option error need to check any surface changes in the component.

command( checks+geometry+ except single cons check all other entities +excute +auto fix).

middle surface is the middle part of the parent component which has two surface by measuring the thickness component , select the single face and select the midsurface  of the component.

hood panel has for five parts in which the three iof them have similar thickness of 1.2mm and the remaining two part outer and ionner panel 0.75mm so the hood compont in the linear .

the extarct the middle surface of the component can be done mannualy or auto option . the right hinge ,left hinge  and extracted mannualy by selecting th faces and then taking the middle surface by the value of 0.6mm

command- ( offset+faces+select the single faces of the conponent + extract)

and outer and inner panel is middle surface extracted in auto option selected by entity and given he middle value of component 0.375mm

command( midsurface +skin+select component + chcking the green , red, blueon the surface +extract mid surface.)

extracting the midsurface of each part , compont is each part assigned to to the property with trheir indivisual thickness  as the three part have similar thickness so they are assigned to the 1.3mm value and inner panel and outer panel at 0.75mm value.

the property is assighned int the proprties panel by creating the new property and giving T to to trhe component as per their paeticular properties  and value.

after extracting the middle surface and  assigning the thickness , now a component is meshed by perticular proccess before meshing to understand the meshing and proccess adapt it.

MESHING- the finite element analysis proccess that divide the component at finite surface by giving the nodes  and the elemet to solve the mathmativcal equation solve.

meshing the component in the none by one surface and rremoving the opposite trias

conclusion- the hood component is extracted with midsurface and assigning to rhe thickness of the parent component and then meshed with given quality paramater and elemet size with the given value and the criteria fine mesh flow which achieved.
