Week 3 - 2D meshing for sheet metal

Aim-2D Mesing for sheat metal.

Procedure- We have to download the Hood from from the give link.

  1. After downloading we have check the model thoughly and we have to geometry cleanup for the hood model.
  2. Then we will click on check and then on geometry clean up to check the no. of errors in the model.
  3. The we will try to auto fix as many errors as we can do and the errors which we cannot fix by autofix we will fix them manually.
  4. For the tripal cons we will click of realease an the we will do topo to make the error correct we will also check for some extra faces and there are we will delete the faces.
  5. After clearing all the unchecked faces we will again do geometry cleanup to check the that weather any error is left or not.
  6. Then we will proceed for the midsurfacing of the hood model by seperating all the 4parts of the hood model (latch , middle the outer and the inner part).
  7. First we will take the latch and measure its width which is 1.2 then we will click on orient to make both the faces yellow which mean original face in negative direction then will click of offset and we will take offset as -0.6 and after the offset is created then we will click on not and then select the top surface just to get the midsurface.
  8. The we will click od set Pid to make a different property of that part.
  9. Then we will check the quality criteria and the average lenght which is given and then we will do best mesh for the latch part to get a smooth mesh of the part.
  1. Then same steps to be followed for the middle , the outer and the inner part.

Conclusion-At last we conclude that a perfect mesh is generated for all the 4parts of the Hood model the by clicking of the all the property together we will get to see the total model with a perfect mesh net.
