Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim:Mesh the model with three different cases of mesh length.

Objective:check for the geometrical errors and perform Topology cleanup accordingly. Set three different target lengths as three different cases and mesh the model.

  1. Target length = 1mm, 3 mm and 5 mm (i.e. 3 cases)
  2. Element type = Tria

Procedure:

  1. First we have import the geometry.

2)We have performed TOPO CLEAN UP. Perforemed geometry checks.

3)Assigned PIDs for all the parts.

PIDs:

a)Body

2)INLET

3)Outlet

4)Column

5)Spring

6)Head

Then given mesh parameter & quality criteria

Results:

Case No.1)

Length:5mm

Spring length :1mm (As the spring dimension is less than mesh parameter (5mm) then for all cases spring length keeping as 1mm)

Case No.2)

Mesh Length=3mm

Spring mesh length=1mm

Case No 3)

Mesh length=1mm

Spring mesh length=1mm

Conclusion:

From above three cases we conclude that, As the mesg length is less then then meshing of parts become very fine.

Here, 1mm mesh length is for accurate and fine that of 3mm & 5mm mesh length.

When we give the mesh length of 5mm & 3mm then the meshing of spring becomes unproper due to speing dimension is less than mesh length. so that we put the mesh length of spring for all the three cases as 1 mm.
