Week 2:- BiW Fixture Basics Challenge
1. Project execution activity includes planning, designing, manufacturing, assembly, trial and Start of Production.
2. Types of Joining process:
a. Resistance welding, b. Arc welding, c. Hemming, d. Adhesive bonding
3.Resistance welding is the joining of metals by applying pressure and passing current for a period of time through the metal which is to be joined. It is applied in body shop as spot welding process, projection welding process, seam welding process for joining.
4. Fusion welding is the joining of metals at its melting point. ex. Rivetting, Spot welding, Projection welding.
5. Body coordinate system is also called car line or Body line. Three axes will be there, x axis, y axis, and z axis.
6. 3-2-1 principle is nothing but arresting the degrees of freedom. First 2 translational movements will be arrested , then 4 rotational movements and then 4 translational movements will be arrested.
